The Short Version
A signup is worth nothing. A referral earns only once the person you referred pays their first full month. Not a trial, not a card on file — a payment that cleared.
Then it waits four weeks. Credit accrues on that payment and is released 28 days later. Everything that comes due is released together, as one total.
It is paid as account credit, never cash. Credit sits on your balance and comes off your next invoice automatically. Your card is charged the difference.
Ambassadors are capped at six free months in any rolling twelve. Referrals past the cap still count — they just do not pay until a month rolls off.
Everything below is the same four rules, said precisely.
1. The Two Programs
Ambassador
Open to any Fighter Cut account. You get a code; anyone who signs up through it and pays a full month earns you one month free, credited at the price of your own plan on the day it is released.
The ceiling is six months in any rolling twelve. Rolling means counted backwards from today, not reset each January — six months earned in December does not become twelve on New Year's Day. As an earned month passes its first anniversary it leaves the count and the ceiling opens up again.
Ambassador codes go live immediately. There is nothing to approve, because a code is worth nothing until somebody pays through it and that money is held four weeks regardless.
Gym referral
Open to gyms and associations on a paid plan. Refer another gym and you earn a share of what that gym actually pays — the rate is set on your partner account and shown on your Referrals screen — for as long as they stay subscribed, up to twelve billed months.
The fee is a share of the invoice they paid, not of a list price. If they are on a discount, an annual plan, or a partial month, the fee follows the real number.
Gym partnerships are reviewed by a person before the code goes live. This is a commercial agreement, and we read them.
Both programs are paid in credit
We do not pay cash, transfer funds, or issue payouts, and there is no threshold at which we start. Credit offsets what you owe us and nothing else. It is not transferable, not redeemable for money, and not refundable. If you close your account, unspent credit is forfeit.
This is deliberate. Paying money out would make this a money-transmission service, with identity verification, payout rails and tax reporting attached to it, and we would rather run a smaller program properly.
2. What Counts As A Referral
A referral exists when a Fighter Cut account is attributed to your code. That
happens one of two ways: they arrive through your link
(fightercut.com/?ref=YOURCODE), or they type your code into the app.
- One code per account, ever. The first code to attach keeps the credit. An account already attributed to someone cannot be re-attributed to you, and you cannot attach a second code to an account you already referred.
- Thirty days. A code attaches only to an account created in the last 30 days. An account that has existed for a year is not a referral, no matter whose link it clicked yesterday.
- Never your own. You cannot refer your own account, and a gym cannot refer itself.
3. When It Pays
| Stage | What happened | What you have earned |
|---|---|---|
| Signed up | They created an account through your code. | Nothing. |
| In holdback | They paid their first full month. The 28-day clock starts on that payment. | Credit is accrued but not spendable. |
| Earned | 28 days have passed and the payment stood. | Credit is released to your balance. |
| Reversed | They refunded, charged back, or cancelled inside the window. | Voided — accrued credit never releases; released credit is clawed back. |
Releases run in batches. Everything of yours that came due since the last run is released together and posted as one total, which is why your balance moves in steps rather than one referral at a time.
Credit is applied automatically to your next invoice. You do not claim it, and there is nothing to redeem.
4. What Voids A Referral
The program is built so that abusing it is not profitable rather than merely forbidden — nothing pays until real money has been paid and has stood for four weeks. The rules below are the rest of it.
A referral does not count, and credit already granted may be reversed, where:
- The referred account is one you control, or was created by you or on your behalf. Second email addresses, family members' devices, and accounts opened at your gym on your own login are all the same thing.
- Payment is refunded, charged back, or reversed, or the subscription is cancelled before the 28 days are up.
- The signup was obtained by paid search on our brand terms, by unsolicited bulk email or messaging, by coupon and deal sites, by browser extensions or toolbars, or by any placement that injects your code into a session the referred person did not choose.
- Your code was distributed by impersonating Fighter Cut, by claiming an endorsement, partnership or employment that does not exist, or alongside statements about the product that we did not make. You may say you use it. You may not say you speak for it.
- The signup was made through automation, an emulator, or any means of simulating a person.
- The referred person was induced by an offer you made and we did not — cash back, a rebate, a share of your credit, or anything else of value contingent on them signing up.
What we look at
We record, per referral: the time it was attributed, a one-way hash of a random per-install token, and a one-way hash of the network the signup came from. We do not record, and do not build, a device fingerprint or a profile of the referred person. The token is random, minted per install, and identifies nothing beyond "this install has been here before".
Patterns that trigger a manual review include many signups from one install, unusual velocity on a single code, and clusters from one network. A flagged referral is held, not refused: it waits for a person to look at it. A gym signing up its own athletes on the gym's wifi will trip the last of these routinely and is exactly the case a human review exists to clear.
If we get it wrong
Write to partners@fightercut.com with your code. We will tell you which referral was held and why. We would rather be argued out of a wrong call than have you find out from a balance that quietly never moved.
5. Suspension And Termination
We may pause a partner account while a review is open, and terminate one for a breach of these terms. A paused account keeps its accrued credit and stops releasing until the review closes; a terminated account forfeits credit accrued from the referrals that caused the termination.
We will tell you which it is and why, in the app, on your Referrals screen. A suspension nobody explains is not something we are willing to ship.
You may leave at any time by asking us to close your partner account. Credit already released stays on your balance and is spent normally.
6. Changes To These Terms
Every version of these terms carries a date, and your partner account and each of your referrals is pinned to the version that was in force when it was created. A rate change is never retroactive. A referral attributed under version 2026-08-27 is settled under version 2026-08-27, however many versions later it happens to release.
New terms apply to referrals attributed after they take effect. We will say so in the app before that happens.
7. Tax, And What This Is Not
Account credit is a discount on what you owe us. It is not income paid to you, and we do not issue tax documents for it. Whether a discount affects your own tax position is between you and your accountant.
Being a partner does not make you an employee, agent, franchisee or joint venturer of Fighter Cut, and does not entitle you to represent us.
These terms sit alongside the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. Fighter Cut is operated by SARL Machetto Douglas, 161 Rue de la Confrérie, 74500 Publier, France.
