Our Commitment
We want fightercut.com and the Fighter Cut iOS app to be usable by as many people as possible. That means we aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time audit. When we build new features we check them against WCAG criteria before shipping. When we receive an accessibility report we treat it with the same urgency as a bug.
What We've Done
Measures already in place on fightercut.com:
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (
header, main, footer, nav) throughout every page - Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard alone
- Focus states visible on all controls — never suppressed
- All images carry descriptive
alttext or are markedaria-hiddenwhen decorative - Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and interactive components)
- Animations respect
prefers-reduced-motion— all motion is disabled when the user has requested it - Form fields have programmatically associated labels; error messages
are linked via
aria-describedby - A visible skip-to-content link appears on keyboard focus on this page
- The page is readable at 200% browser zoom without loss of content
- Language declared on the
<html>element (lang="en")
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following issues and are working to address them:
- The 3D body-wireframe feature in the iOS app is not fully accessible to VoiceOver users. A text summary of body measurements is displayed alongside it, but the interactive 3D model itself cannot be navigated by screen reader — this is on our roadmap.
- Some third-party images loaded via Unsplash on the landing page carry automated alt text that may be generic. We are moving to curated alt descriptions on all hero and feature images.
- The cookie consent banner currently traps focus within the banner
when displayed. We are adding a
dialogrole to formalise this pattern properly.
Technical Approach
Web (fightercut.com)
- Plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript — no framework obscuring semantics
- Tested with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
- Tested with keyboard-only navigation in Chrome, Safari and Firefox
- Lighthouse accessibility audits run before every deploy
iOS App
- VoiceOver labels on all interactive elements
- Dynamic Type supported across all text styles
- Reduce Motion respected — animations disabled via
UIAccessibility.isReduceMotionEnabled - Sufficient colour contrast in both light and dark mode
